As the sector association of the biotechnology industy, BIO Deutschland has set itself the objective of supporting and promoting the development of an innovative economic sector based on modern biosciences. The Berlin-based association currently has over 280 members.

May 2011: Biotechnology, pharmaceutics and medical technology cooperation trip to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen from 14 – 21 May 2011
Following the very successful biotech trip in 2010, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) have asked Brücke Osteuropa (the German Association for Economic and Technological Cooperation with Eastern Europe and Asia) and BIO Deutschland (the German biotechnology industry association) to organise a second cooperation trip to China for this sector. The European Commission’s China IPR SME Helpdesk provides small and medium-sized enterprises with free legal advice on their work with Chinese business partners. The helpdesk also offers training, materials and online services. Read more...

The founding meeting of the German-Chinese Working Group on the Medical Sector and Biotechnology was held at the end of June.
