BIO Deutschland Comments on the EFI’s 2015 Report

More venture capital for higher research intensity

The innovation intensity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Germany has almost halved to 1.6 per cent since 1995. According to the report by the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI), this development should not be taken lightly. BIO Deutschland, the sector association of the biotechnology industry, shares this view and particularly welcomes the EFI’s recommendation that incentives for the supply of venture capital should be improved and that the Federal Government’s plans in this area should be put into practice without delay.
