Ninth CFO Summit of the Biotech Sector in Berlin

Once again this year, the biotech sector’s CFO Summit, which was held for the ninth time, focused on the difficult financing situation faced by German biotechnology companies. At the invitation of the biotechnology sector association BIO Deutschland’s Working Group on Finance and Taxation, around 80 finance experts from small and medium-sized biotechnology companies met in Berlin. They were joined by policymakers with whom they discussed ideas on mobilising research funding, thus preventing a “brain drain” and job cuts in Germany. Claus Kremoser, CEO of BIO Deutschland member Phenex Pharmaceuticals AG, called for innovation financing to finally be made a policy priority.
