Work on International Norms: BIO Deutschland Attends Biotechnology ISO/TC in China
As previously reported, an international ISO Technical Committee (ISO/TC) has been set up to define international biotechnology norms. The ISO/TC met in Shenzhen, China, in mid-April. A BIO Deutschland representative took part in the meeting.
The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to discuss topics in plenary sessions and for the four active working groups to meet. These groups are as follows:
- Terms & Definitions
- Biobanking & Bioresources
- Analytical Methods
- Bioprocessing
A new Working Group on Data Processing and Integration was set up during the meeting in Shenzhen. This group will deal with the standardisation of compatibility requirements for data standards and their interoperability.
