Dr. Klaus Eichenberg (Spokesperson of AK BioRegio)

studied
biology in Freiburg in Breisgau and following his doctorate he was
employed as a management consultant in the Life Science Team at Ernst
& Young/Capgemini. At Hypo-Vereinsbank he gained qualification as
an investment analyst (CEFA) and was active as a finance analyst in the
field of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. He then worked as a
freelance consulant in the Steinbeis Verbund. Since 2004 Dr. Eichenberg
has led the Cluster of BioRegio STERN Management GmbH and supports the
business interests of founders, companies and researchers from the
biotech field in the area of Stuttgart. The Ministry of Education and
Research (BMBF) promotes BioRegio STERN in the framework of the
promotion programme "Bio-Profile".
Dr. Kai Uwe Bindseil (Deputy spokesperson of AK BioRegio)

sudied chemistry in Goettingen and completed his doctorate in organic chemistry and pharmacology. Following a post doctorate in the field of core drug discovery technologies at Ciba-Geigy AG in Basel, he entered AnalytiCon AG, Berlin in 1994 and in 1997 became a procurist and departmental leader of drug discovery & development. In 2000 he founded AnalytiCon Discovery GmbH in Potsdam and became managing director with responsibility for marketing, sales, business and drug development. Since 2001 he has led the Action Centre BioTOP Berlin-Brandenburg. He is also procurist for TSB Innovationsagentur GmbH and a member of the Steering Committee of the Scanbalt Network, Council of European Bioregions, Technology Park Potsdam-Golm and of the MBA course for pharmaceutical management at the Berlin School of Economics.
Dr. Thomas Diefenthal (Deputy spokesperson of AK BioRegio)

studied biology and genetics in Cologne and completed his doctorate in 1988 at the Max Planck Institute for Breeding Research under Prof. Schell. In 1990 he entered the research department of the foodstuffs concern Weissheimer Malt and built up the biotechnology department in collaboration with Carlsberg Research Laboratory in Copenhagen (Denmark), of which he became the project leader in 1993. At the end of 1994 he founded the Biotech-company Maltagen Research GmbH and was its managing partner until 1999. Since April 1999 Dr. Diefenthal has been managing director of BioPark Regensburg GmbH and in addition to the running of the Biotech centre at the university campus, responsible for the cluster management of the BioRegio Regensburg. He is a jury and coach member in the Businessplan Competition Northern Bavaria and active as a consultant investor for the region. Since 2009 he has been the second spokesman for the Council of BioParks and since 2011 he has been a board member of the German Association of Innovation, Technology and Business Incubation Centres (ADT).
