BIOSPAIN 2012 – 6th International Meeting on Biotechnology

BIOSPAIN 2012 is the International Meeting on Biotechnology to be held in Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain) from the 19th to the 21st of September, 2012. In its 6th edition, BIOSPAIN is co-organized by ASEBIO (the Spanish Bioindustry Association) and SPRI (Department of Industry, Innovation, Trade & Tourism of the Basque government).

Over 200 companies are expected to participate in the trade exhibition area from countries such as Belgium, France, Germany, United Kingdom and Spain among others. The partnering event, organized by EBD Group, expects to gather over 1.500 delegates from 800 companies that will schedule over 3.500 one-to-one meetings during
the three day partnering event.

BIOSPAIN’s partnering event is the 7th largest in the world by the number of delegates, companies and meetings scheduled.

BIOSPAIN 2012 also features an Investor’s Forum, Plenary Sessions & conferences with top Spanish & international speakers, the Spanish Society of Biotechnology (SEBIOT) national scientific congress and a Career Fair.

In the previous edition, held in Pamplona in 2010, over 1.300 delegates from 650 companies (23% International) attended the event and the trade exhibition area featured 134 booths with 168 exhibitors from Spain and abroad.

Total participation reached for the first time the 1.200 delegate mark and over 2.147 one-to-one meetings were scheduled, being one the largest biotech events held in 2010 in the world.

The official language of Biospain is English, and direct translation will be provided in those conferences where speakers do not speak this language.
