Global Health – The International and the German Agenda
2017-05-17
Berlin
The event opens with Session 1, a panel on Germany’s role in Global Health. Expectations for Germany have grown significantly in the area of global health policy. The German Federal Government has significantly expanded its commitment in this area, in part as a result of its obligations under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The aim of the panel is to learn from the political parties in the German parliament how and in which policy areas they plan to advance global health concerns.
Session 2 starts with the first-ever presentation of the “German Global Health Award”, which will be handed over by Brigitte Zypries, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy. The award – presented by the German Healthcare Partnership (GHP), BIO Deutschland e.V. and BDI - Federation of German Industries – honours outstanding achievements in innovation, services and technologies around health care in developing and emerging countries.
The event ends with an opening reception for the B20 Health Conference, which will take place in Berlin on 18th May.
