In addition to the online information event on 7 February from the NKS Gesundheit on IHI Calls 6 and 7, we invite you to a background discussion IHI on 8 February (13:30 to 14:40). BIO Deutschland members, through EuropaBio, can participate through the private side of IHI, giving them a direct line to the development of projects and guaranteed participation in consortia with other companies who are members of EFPIA, MedTech Europe etc. Claire Skentelbery (EuropaBio) and Michael Kahnert (Miltenyi Biotec) will report on their active participation in the public private partnership IHI as well as on their experiences of consortium formation and active participation in drafting a call. Both will then be available to answer your questions.
IHI is a public-private partnership between the European Union, represented by the European Commission, and various industry organisations from the healthcare sector. The IHI finances collaborative research and innovation projects in which all those active in the health sector or in medical research can participate, including universities, research institutions, health-related industries, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), patient organisations and regulatory bodies. A total budget of EUR 2.4 billion has been earmarked for the initiative, of which EUR 1.2 billion will be contributed by the EU Commission. The participating industry associations (EFPIA, COCIR, MedTechEuropa, Europabio & VaccinesEurope) will contribute EUR 1 billion through their member companies ("in kind contributions"), while so-called "contributing partners" such as foundations will contribute a further EUR 200 million to the financing of the IHI.
