The 16th CEO & CFO Meeting was held in Schloss Hohenkammer near Munich on 4 and 5 December 2014. Around 100 business people from the biotechnology industry met in the familiar confidential atmosphere of the two-day conference to discuss developments and current trends in the sector, but also to explore possible collaborations.
In early December 2014, BIO Deutschland attended a meeting of the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee on harmonising terminology in biotechnology.
The International Council of Biotechnology Associations(ICBA) held a teleconference on 4 November 2014. After being welcomed by Jim Greenwood (President & CEO of the Biotechnology Industry Organization BIO) and Nathalie Moll (Secretary General of EuropaBio), the participants discussed the various points on the agenda.
Meeting between the Biotechnology Industry Organization and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy
Representatives of the US Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), which is affiliated with BIO Deutschland, met representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and of pharmaceutical and biotechnology trade associations at the ministry in early November.
On 3 November 2014, BIO Deutschland attended a workshop on the Bioeconomy as an Opportunity for Agriculture and the Chemical Industry to Compete. The event was organised by the Bioeconomy Council and took place at the Excellence Business Centre in Berlin Main Station.
On the evening of 25 November 2014, BIO Deutschland and other members of the SME Alliance met Andrea Nahles, Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs.
BIO Deutschland and the German Startups Association co-hosted a networking event for entrepreneurs from the biotechnology and information technology sectors on 7 November 2014.
BIO-Europe was held in Frankfurt from 3 to 5 November 2014. As in previous years, BIO Deutschland had a stand at the conference.
