Association launches new “BIO Deutschland China Network”

In late March, BIO Deutschland started its first virtual network –– the “BIO Deutschland China Network” – as a LinkedIn group. The network is headed up by Albrecht Läufer, CEO of BluCon Biotech GmbH in Cologne and since 2010 chair of the Sub-Working Group on Biotechnology under the German-Chinese Working Group on the Medical Industry and Biotechnology, which is led by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Chinese Department of High-Tech Industry of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

BIO Deutschland plans to establish additional networks as virtual exchange platforms on topics that are not covered by the association’s working groups. Unlike the working groups, which focus on developing policy positions and statements, the networks will mainly be about exchanging experience and maintaining contacts.
