In mid-May, Thomas Hendel of Helmholtz Munich welcomed some BIO Deutschland members for an in-depth discussion of the German National Cohort (NAKO Gesundheitsstudie) – Germany’s largest long-term study of widespread diseases that tracks the health of around 200,000 adults. The group explored the possibilities for conducting a joint project that would make samples and data available for research purposes. The visit also included a tour of the on-site biobank.
