BIO Deutschland at the Finance Day in Leipzig

Finance Day took place at Bio-City Leipzig on October 23. Matthias Bach from BIO Germany moderated the panel discussion on "The next unicorns – and who is financing them ..." and discussed the topic with Angelika Vlachou, Partner, HTGF, Eric Weber, CEO SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator & SIVentures, Rainer Strohmenger, Managing Partner, Wellington Partners, Martin Müller, Senior Investment Manager, CARMA FUND, and Andreas Kastenbauer, Partner, MIG Capital. Although equity financing in the industry has been low so far in 2025, investors were relatively positive and commented that money is available and that the number of deals in Europe is expected to increase again. Large tickets with European investors are also possible. The changes in the US should also be seen as an opportunity. Among other things, it was critically noted that large insurers in biotechnology tend to invest outside Europe.
