BIO Deutschland at the launch of the SME dialogue of the Ministry of Economics Federal
Minister of Economics Katherina Reiche and Parliamentary State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics Gitta Connemann, Federal Government Commissioner for SMEs, invited the management of around 50 associations, both voluntary and full-time, to the first dialogue. Against the backdrop of important initiatives with a clear focus on growth, investment, relief, and acceleration, which the federal government launched in its first 100 days, “further bold structural reforms” are now necessary so that small and medium-sized enterprises can strengthen their competitiveness and implement urgently needed investments for the future. This was stated in the invitation. In its brief contribution to the discussion, BIO Deutschland e. V. focused on the importance of the cooperation between traditional, proven industries and new disciplines such as biotechnology and quantum computing for the German economy. The association also emphasized how important it is to incentivize equity investments in innovation in order to ensure Germany's international competitiveness. At the end of the almost two hour exchange, Gitta Connemann announced that further discussions would be held regularly each quarter in smaller groups.
