BIO Deutschland Participates in Les Universités de Pharmaceutiques in Strasbourg

BIO Deutschland played an active role in this year’s Les Universités de Pharmaceutiques, which took place in Strasbourg on 6 and 7 December 2012. The annual conference brings together decision-makers and opinion leaders from the life sciences and the health sector in France. Over the course of two days, senior figures from the health sector hold discussions on the current situation and developments in the branch with CEOs and managing directors from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, the chairpersons of the sector associations (MEDEF, LEEM and LIR), directors of the public authorities (CEPS, ANSM and HAS), representatives of the health and economics ministries, employee representatives and many other people.

The programme included a joint symposium by Didier Hoch from MEDEF(Mouvement des entreprises de France = the French Business Confederation) and Peter Heinrich, Chairman of the Board of BIO Deutschland, who spoke about the conditions for innovation in biotechnology and the life sciences in France and Germany. After their presentation, they discussed the two countries’ opportunities to work together to improve the situation for the parts of the health sector that conduct research and for the biotechnology industry in Europe. Their symposium was attended by around 200 opinion leaders and industry representatives.
