BIO-Europe was held in Frankfurt from 3 to 5 November 2014. As in previous years, BIO Deutschland had a stand at the conference. The successful concept of basing the event on three pillars – a trade fair and exhibition, lectures and company presentations, and one-to-one meetings – was used in the same way again this year. The organisers registered over 3,200 participants. Almost 18,000 meetings were set up via the partnering system, in addition to what was presumably the same number of talks at stands, meetings during the coffee breaks and conversations during the evening receptions.
BIO Deutschland’s stand was in a good location, thus allowing the association to speak with a large number of visitors and to promote its work, as well as conferences and events. There were positive reactions to BIO Deutschland’s work, and the large number of visitors to the stand from outside Germany showed that BIO Deutschland is well known as an association all over Europe. BIO Deutschland also made use of its participation in BIO-Europe to speak to potential new members.
In the run-up to the event, BIO Deutschland offered its members the chance to display material on the stand. Many members thus also used the stand as a contact point for information on the association’s network. In addition, the Working Group on Regulatory Matters and the Working Group on German-US Cooperation held a meeting at the stand.
Next year’s BIO-Europe will be held in Munich from 2 to 4 November.
