BIO Deutschland takes part in European Partnering Days

In October BIO Deutschland actively participated in the European Partnering Days of one of its members, AbbVie. The event uses a virtual format to bring together researchers, entrepreneurs and biotech companies with experts from the pharmaceutical group. In addition to one-on-one meetings to share research projects and ideas, the program included talks by the company’s C-level executives and a panel discussion with external partners like the UK BioIndustry Association (BIA) and BIO Deutschland. Topics of discussion included Europe as a biotech location with a special focus on Germany and the UK, the role of the various elements of the drug development value chain with a focus on collaboration with drugmakers such as AbbVie, as well as opportunity capital (venture capital), the framework conditions for medical innovations and their financing, and the tax treatment of investments.
