Biotech hall of fame opens its virtual doors

The pandemic has shown the world what biotechnology companies can do for society, especially when it comes to creating vaccines. But German biotechnology companies can do much more than just that. They develop diagnostics and therapeutics, supply important products for research, development and manufacturing, and use their know-how to make industrial processes more sustainable. Germany is home to more than 900 biotech companies, which together employ some 50,000 people. Many of them started off as small university spin-offs, and today many of them are extremely successful and have a global presence. The newly established “Hall of Fame” of German biotechnology showcases a succinct selection of such companies for the first time and shares their remarkable success stories.
