Constitutive Meeting of BIO Deutschland’s New Working Group on the Industrial Bioeconomy

The experts from BIO Deutschland’s new Working Group on the Industrial Bioeconomy held their constitutive meeting in Berlin at the beginning of March. The participants discussed the current state of affairs in the bioeconomy sector, as well as possible priority topics and tasks to be tackled by the working group.

BIO Deutschland’s policy work on the bioeconomy is scheduled to start after the summer recess. The work will focus on guiding policymakers on this topic in the run-up to the German general election in 2013. A meeting between the working group and selected Members of the Bundestag is planned as the first event.

The working group will hold a teleconference in the near future to discuss communication measures and the meeting with policymakers.

The working group is chaired by Andre Koltermann, a member of the Board of BIO Deutschland and head of strategic development at the Süd-Chemie AG/Clariant Group.

Members of BIO Deutschland are welcome to request a copy of the minutes of the meeting from the association’s office.
