EuropaBio’s Healthcare Council holds meeting

On the same day as the NAC meeting, EuropaBio’s Healthcare Council (HC) also convened in Brussels for its first meeting of the year. The experts began the meeting by discussing whether and how the limited personnel resources could be used more effectively. Until now, it has been standard practice for the council to create a task force for every topic, which members from the HC would then examine. HC members want to do away with very formal approach in the future and speed up work on topics by appointing – if necessary – champions and small groups. This should ease the office’s workload, enabling it to devote more of its time to organising breakfast events and targeted information sessions with EU Parliament and EU Commission representatives. The experts also exchanged their views on the topics of ATMP, HTA, biosimilars and orphan drugs.
