Exchange with Member of the European Parliament Axel Voss (CDU)

On April 4, a joint online exchange took place between the working groups Bio-IT, Big Data and E-Health, Intellectual Property Rights and Technical Contracts, and Technology Transfer with Axel Voss (CDU), Member of the European Parliament and of the JURI Committee. Cay Horstmann (BIO Deutschland) began by welcoming the guest and presenting the work and goals of the association. The respective working group heads then gave an insight into their current focal points: Birgit Kerber (EMBLEM Technology Transfer GmbH) for the Technology Transfer working group, Joerg Thomaier (Bayer) and Thomas Hirse (CMS Hasche Sigle) for the working group on intellectual property rights and technical contracts and Oliver Vettel (Inhive Group) for the Bio-IT, Big Data and E-Health working group. The ideas presented led to an intensive and constructive dialog with Axel Voss. The focus included the AI practice guide, challenges posed by digital standards including how to deal with new standards and new legal concepts. All participants were able to voice and discuss their concerns and positions.
