Federal Health Minister Hermann Gröhe to open German Biotechnology Days in Leipzig

The seventh annual German Biotechnology Days conference will take place in Leipzig on 26 and 27 April 2016. The conference is put on by BIO Deutschland, the Council of German BioRegions, the regional host biosaxony and the regional partner TGZ/Bio-Centre Halle. The German Biotechnology Days, which expect to again draw some 800 participants this year, are the leading networking forum for the German biotech sector. The event is a meeting place for representatives from the worlds of business, science and government, including partners from funding institutions, public administration and the media. It offers a diverse program that features a series of talks, parallel panel discussions and symposiums as well as breakfast sessions for the well-rested.

The two-day conference kicks off with an opening plenary session at which the Federal Health Minister Hermann Gröhe will address the attendees. State Secretary Georg Schütte of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will speak before the plenary the following day, using the occasion to also recognize the winners of the seventh round of the GO-Bio competition.
