German companies on show at the biggest biotech event in Boston

The BIO International Convention, the world’s largest gathering of the biotechnology industry, was held in Boston from 5 to 8 June. BIO Deutschland travelled to the world’s biggest biotech hub as the official rapporteur for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). The BMWK supports German companies at BIO as part of its Foreign Trade Fair Programme by organising the German Pavilion.

Germany was once again represented by a large delegation. A total of 51 exhibitors, companies and BioRegions – including many members of BIO Deutschland – were represented at the German Pavilion, and more than 15 firms presented themselves at their own stands.

BIO Deutschland ran the Pavilion’s central information stand and provided visitors with detailed information on the exhibitors, the German biotechnology sector and German biotechnology companies. It was supported on the stand by staff from the Health – Made in Germany export initiative, which is implemented by the economic development agency Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI).

More than 20,000 participants from 73 countries attended this year’s event in Boston. The convention will return to the west coast next year, with San Diego slated to host the event from 4 to 8 June 2024.
