High Level Conference to Biosolutions in Brussels

At the High-Level Conference in Brussels, the European Biosolutions Coalition (EBC) presented a joint declaration to Olivér Várhelyi, EU Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare, who delivered a keynote speech.

The declaration calls for three key actions:

Reform of European regulatory frameworks
Improving the availability and access to biosolutions investment for companies
Recognition of biosolutions as strategic priorities in EU industrial policy.

At the conference, representatives from the EU Commission and various interest groups took part in several panels to discuss how biosolutions can be supported and promoted within Europe. Marianne Dessen-Mugniot from AB Enzymes also made a statement on behalf of BIO Deutschland as a stand-in for the Head of Industrial Bioeconomy Working Group, Anja Schwenzfeier. Other BIO Deutschland members and Cay Horstmann (Team BIO Deutschland), active members of the EBC Governance Board, also took part in the event.
