International Council of Biotech Associations (ICBA) holds telephone conference

ICBA members held a telephone conference in the run-up to the BIO International Convention in Philadelphia in June. In addition to admitting a new member, SwedenBIO, participants discussed the agenda for the next meeting, which will take place in Philadelphia on the day before the opening of the world’s largest biotech conference. Staff from the US biotech trade association BIO gave an update on the debate about drug costs in the United States and the implications for other countries, while also providing information about US trade relations with China, Mexico, Canada and Japan. Andrew Casey, Chair of the ICBA and President and CEO of BIOTECanada, reported on the visit of an ICBA delegation to various WHO committees in Geneva.
