International Council of Biotech Associations (ICBA) meets in San Diego
The International Council of Biotech Associations (ICBA) convened on the margins of the BIO International Convention in San Diego. The aim of the ICBA is to discuss global issues relevant to the biotechnology industry and to learn from one another. In autumn of this year, the Council plans to make a range of information publicly accessible online. Items on the meeting’s agenda included US trade policies, the global management of intellectual property, access and benefit sharing (ABS) of bioresources, transnational efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the Global Biotech Week from 20 to 27 September 2017. ICBA’s current chairman is Andrew Casey, president and CEO of BIOTECanada. BIO Deutschland is a founding member of the ICBA.
