Hierarchies becoming less important, teams increasing their competencies
The fourth human resources (HR) conference for the life sciences and healthcare sectors, held on 18 February in Frankfurt, set a new attendance record. Some 150 CEOs, managing directors and HR officers from pharma, biotech and personnel consulting firms discussed topics such as staff and leadership development, changing the management culture, recruiting, and personnel management challenges in the healthcare sector.
Thomas Schweins, senior vice president of human resources, strategy and marketing services at QIAGEN and head of BIO Deutschland's Working Group on Human Resources, and Udo Steffens, CEO and president of the host institution, the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, opened the conference.
Speakers at the event included CEOs, managing directors and HR officers from various segments of the industrial healthcare sector, from diagnostics to medical technology, from biotechnology to the pharma industry, from SMEs to multinational corporations.
