Round table meeting on new breeding techniques

In early December representatives from an alliance of 23 associations from the biotech, agriculture and food industries, to which BIO Deutschland also belongs, met in Berlin. In a press conference held in late October, the associations had called for the outdated European GMO legislation to be amended to reflect the current state of science and to thus ensure legal certainty in the agricultural trade. The representatives discussed the results of and the media response to the press conference as well as the next joint steps in the new year in terms of policy advocacy and public relations.
