Since Hinrich Habeck (Life Science Nord) passed the baton for the German Biotechnology Days to Bernward Garthoff (BIO.NRW) in April, preparations for the next national meeting of the biotechnology sector have been underway. The Sixth German Biotechnology Days, which will be organised in 2015 by BIO Deutschland, the Council of German BioRegions and the host BIO.NRW, will take place on 22 and 23 April at Messe Köln, the trade fair grounds in Cologne. The new team organising the event and the programme committee have drawn up a preliminary draft programme, which builds up on the positive feedback and impressions from this year’s event in Hamburg. As in previous years, the focus will be on the bioeconomy, medical biotechnology, conditions in the sector and presentations on the projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. A fifth topic may be added. The programme will also include breakfast sessions once again.
In addition, the conference participants will have a chance to enjoy an evening event at the botanical gardens Flora Köln.
Further information and the registration form will be available from mid-September at www.biotechnologietage.de or from BIO Deutschland’s office (wenke@biodeutschland.org or tel.: +49-30-72625-135)
