SME Alliance talks with Katarina Barley from the SPD

In late November, BIO Deutschland used its membership in the SME Alliance to speak with SPD General Secretary Katarina Barley about companion diagnostics and digitisation. BIO Deutschland made clear that the billing of tests accompanying medicinal products is essential to facilitating the use of innovative therapies based on personalised medicine. It also stressed how important it would be to make progress on digitisation in the healthcare segment, pointing out that the potential that exists in clinical and non-clinical data must be realized by enhancing networking (keywords: interoperability and telematics infrastructure) and by using the data in a targeted way for research purposes, all the while taking into consideration data protection requirements.
