Supervising the German Pavilion at the BIO International Convention

The BIO International Convention took place in Boston from June 16 to 19. As one of over 900 other trade fairs, the event was once again supported by the foreign trade fair program of the Federal Ministry of Economics (Bundeswirtschaftsministerium). Thanks to the favorable conditions, 83 exhibitors from Germany were able to present themselves with a stand in Boston. The complete list of exhibitors is available at https://bio.german-pavilion.com/en.
Claudia Englbrecht and Matthias Bach from BIO Deutschland were in charge of the pavilion's information stand for four days, with the latter serving as the official rapporteur for the federal funding program. Every year, the information stand was the central point of contact for questions about the German biotechnology industry, for matching with individual exhibitors, and for a general exchange of experiences.
Consul General Sonja Kreibich from Boston and Lucas Theo Rehaag from the AHK New York visited the stand, exchanged views with the BIO Deutschland team and the implementation company about the potential of German biotechnology and the challenges, and then took plenty of time to tour the German Pavilion and hold in-depth discussions with exhibitors.
There were once again numerous receptions and parties as part of the convention. For example, the European Innovation Council hosted an evening reception for the first time (see next article) and the Consulate General organized an extra business meeting. BIO.NRW also hosted an atmospheric reception. All in all, visitors to the event enjoyed a comprehensive conference and networking experience.
