Third Bioeconomy Council holds first national event
Under the motto “What does the turning point mean for the transformation? – Contributions of the bioeconomy ”, the interim results of the Bioeconomy Council’s work were presented in panel discussions and interactive plenary sessions and debated by participants in various formats. One of the focuses was the question of how we can meet the demand for vital resources such as food and energy going forward, without losing sight of our ambitious climate goals or playing them off against one other. The Council discussed this and other exciting bioeconomy issues with experts from civil society, science, business and politics in order to develop appropriate solutions and strategies. The meeting was also attended by high-ranking government officials, including State Secretary Judith Pirscher of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research; State Secretary Silvia Bender of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture; State Secretary Stefan Tidow of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection; and Parliamentary State Secretary Michael Kellner of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Some 400 participants viewed the broadcast from Berlin on their computers.
