Working Group Meeting of the Health Made in Germany Export Initiative – Opportunities and Outlook on the Russian and Indian Markets

On 15 February 2013, members of the working groups on pharmaceuticals, medical technology, medical biotechnology and telemedicine of the Health Made in Germany Export Initiative met at the office of Germany Trade and Invest (GTaI) in Berlin to discuss the possibilities for expanding activities in Russia and India. Representatives of the German Pharmaceutical Industry Association (BPI); the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (vfa); the Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie (ZVEI); SPECTARIS – the German High-tech Industry Association; the National Association for eHealth Systems and Telemedicine; and BIO Deutschland attended the meeting. There were presentations on the very different market situations in Russia and India and the various associations shared their experiences of the particular challenges posed by these locations. The GTaI will help to improve contacts with decision makers and to explore options for enhancing business conditions in both countries.
