EAPB and BIO Deutschland are strengthening their collaboration
EAPB: managing office goes to BIO Deutschland in Berlin
The European Association of Pharma Biotechnology, EAPB, and the German Biotechnology Industry Organisation BIO Deutschland e. V. have decided to strengthen their cooperation with beginning of 2011. They will collaborate in fostering and supporting topics in pharmaceutical and medical biotechnology on the German and European level.
The managing office of EAPB moves from Heidelberg to Berlin and will now be organized by BIO Deutschland. EAPB’s managing director remains Marion Kronabel, who has served as managing director of EAPB since 2008.
The members of both associations will benefit from the synergies resulting from the combined forces. While the science and research topics driven EAPB gains additional access to industrial issues, BIO Deutschland profits by the European approach of EAPB. On the basis of the new partnership and via(through?) the collaboration with other associations (e.g. EuropaBio and the European Confederation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs, Eucope) both the visibility and significance of EAPB and BIO Deutschland in the national and European context will be increased.
Wieland Wolf, president of EAPB resumes, “the complementary strengths which both partners bring to this collaboration will definitely increase their support of pharmaceutical and medical biotechnology in Europe, regarding research and development as well as its industrial perspective”.
Peter Heinrich, Chairman of BIO Deutschland’s Directors Board states, „we are very pleased to support EAPBs activities now based at our offices in Berlin. The tighter co-operation will definitely bring German biotech companies and the EAPBs European biopharmaceutical network closer together.”
