Invitation to the German Biotechnology Days in Berlin on April 16 and 17
(Berlin – April 10, 2024) The German Biotechnology Days (DBT) will take place on April 16 and 17 at the bcc in Berlin. The event is considered the national forum for the German biotechnology industry, where entrepreneurs exchange ideas with representatives from science and politics, funding institutions and administration, as well as their business associates.
Highlights:
- Impulses from the Federal Ministry of Economics, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the EU Commission
- Discussion with members of parliament on innovation policy in Germany
- Two plenary sessions and 19 symposia
- News from medical, industrial and agricultural biotechnology
- Around 1000 expected guests from science, business, politics and administration
- More than 50 exhibitors
- Evening event at the Uber Eats Music Hall
The two-day programme highlights the many fields of application and the potential of biotechnology, e.g. gene and cell therapy, cancer research, new plant breeding techniques and crop protection, recycling and upcycling, bioproduction and much more. The topics of financing, patent protection and start-up funding are also part of the programme.

The 14th German Biotechnology Days are supported by Roche, Boehringer Ingelheim, Driven, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) with the program “EXIST - Start-ups from Science”, EBD Group, FGK Clinical Research, HealthCapital Berlin Brandenburg, Miltenyi Biotec, Mittelstand Global - Export Initiative Health Industry, QIAGEN, Rentschler Biopharma, Serana and Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Federal Ministry of Education and Women's Affairs are hosting their own symposia during the programme, at which publicly funded projects will be presented.
The German Biotechnology Days are organized by BIO Deutschland in cooperation with the German BioRegions. The partner region in 2024 is Rhineland-Palatinate, with the state capital of Mainz.
