General Meeting on 5 October in Hanover: Election of the Board and Amendments to the Statutes

BIO Deutschland members are invited to attend the sixth ordinary Annual General Meeting of BIO Deutschland on Monday, 5 October 2009, from 13.30 until around 18.00 in Salon 15/16 of the Convention Centre at the Hanover Messe.

The meeting will be held in the run-up to the Biotechnica in Hanover.

The board, the heads of the nine working groups, the representative of the BioRegions’ working group, and the managing director of BIO Deutschland will give reports on the main activities of the past twelve months. In addition, a new board is to be elected and a resolution on amendments to the statutes is to be made.

Fourteen candidates are running this year for the board of BIO Deutschland, which can have a maximum of ten members. Those attending the General Meeting will also be presented with a draft on optimising the statutes. However, at least half of the members must attend in order that the resolution on amending the statutes, which is of importance to the association, can be made. As a result, the BIO Deutschland team is currently working to make sure that as many members as possible attend the General Meeting. For those who are not able to attend in person, there is the option of authorising another person to vote in their name.
