Lithuanian president is a guest at life sciences symposium in Berlin

On the occasion of Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė’s visit to Germany, the ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania organised a life sciences symposium in Berlin. Hinrich Habeck, Managing Director of Life Science Nord Management GmbH, moderated the event. Welcoming remarks were made by President Dalia Grybauskaitė as well as representatives from the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the HealthCapital Berlin-Brandenburg – Healthcare Industries Cluster. BIO Deutschland was given the opportunity to give a talk on the German biotech sector and on the European framework for advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMP). Also speaking at the event were representatives from the Lithuanian Ministry of Economics, the Lithuanian Association for Innovative Medical Technologies and Biopharmacy, and the Berlin-Brandenburg Center for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT). Lithuania is the largest of the three Baltic states and has a population of approximately three million people. The country regained its independence on 11 March 1990 after being annexed by the USSR in 1940.
