Meeting of the Working Group on Communication and Public Relations

On 8 October, the members of the Working Group on Communication and Public Relations met at Messe Hannover. The meeting was chaired by Claudia Gutjahr-Löser of MorphoSys and included discussion on and evaluation of several PR measures undertaken by BIO Deutschland, such as a brochure for the new members of the German Bundestag on the association’s official positions and participation in the European Biotech Week. The direction of the working group’s work next year was also an important point on the agenda. The group primarily sees itself as a forum for exchanging information on communication in the life sciences, but also as a committee that can provide guidance on effective PR activities and projects by BIO Deutschland, for example in the form of an editorial calendar. The meeting also included discussion on various electronic platforms for internal exchanges. The first step was to set up a XING group for members of the working group.
