Bayerische Patentallianz GmbH
As a central service centre for universities and industry, Bayerische Patentallianz GmbH analyses the innovations of Bavarian universities for market-relevant technologies and generates patents that can then be offered to industry.
As the central patent and marketing agency for 28 Bavarian universities and universities of applied science, Bayerische Patentallianz GmbH represents a link between science and industry. It evaluates and markets the inventions of over 17,000 scientists. The patent office helps inventors to obtain proprietary protection for their inventions and to use these commercially. Bayerische Patentallianz GmbH allows the industry unique access to the largest technology pool in Bavaria.

German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ)
The DKFZ systematically explores the mechanisms of cancer development and records cancer risk factors. More than 70 academic departments and groups work in seven research areas (see www.dkfz.de/de/forschung/schwerpunkte/index.php).
Currently, the DKFZ has a portfolio of more than 350 patent families, including new therapeutics, diagnostics, targets, equipment and non-patented research tools.

Max-Planck-Innovation GmbH
The Max Planck Society (MPG) established the Munich-based Max-Planck-Innovation GmbH (MP-Innovation) as a technology transfer agency for all Max Planck Institutes spread across Germany. Currently, between 120 and 140 inventions are reported to MP-Innovation each year, 80 to 100 of which lead to a patent application.
